WELSH CLASSIC FESTIVAL
From its beginnings in 1984 this meeting has provided a platform for all the great horses that have appeared on our tracks here in Britain. The Welsh Classic is the Cheltenham Gold Cup of harness racing run on the “Field of Dreams” but this great race is augmented by a quality card of top races including the Strata Florida Handicap, the Scoot Around Electric Mile, the Junior Welsh Dragon and Little Welsh Dragon stakes races as well as a card of trotters. This meeting has evolved over the years – at one stage it became a three-day festival but for the past twenty years we have concentrated on providing two days of quality harness racing for our visitors from all over Britain and Ireland. Strategically placed at the end of August the meeting provides a pinnacle for the Harness Racing season in Britain attracting the best of the best to compete on the Dolyrychain amphitheatre surrounded by rolling Welsh hills.

THE TRACK
The Track is situated on the B4343 between TREGARON and PONTRHYDFENDIGAID. FROM THE SOUTH: From LAMPETER, take the A485 to TREGARON. At x roads in Tregaron, go straight across,taking the B4343 towards PONTRHYDFENDIGAID The racetrack is approx 4 miles from Tregaron, before you reach the village of PONTRHYDFENDIGAID FROM THE NORTH: From ABERYSTWYTH, take the B4340, Through PONTRHYDFENDIGAID, takng the B4343 towards TREGARON. The track is approximately 1 mile from PONTRHYDFENDIGAID OR From LLANGURIG, take the A44 towards ABERYSTWYTH. At PONTERWYD take A4120 for DEVILS BRIDGE. Through DEVILS BRIDGE, then take B4343 for TREGARON, through PONTRHYDFENDIGAID. The track is approximately 1 mile from PONTRHYDFENDIGAID
